Company Impersonation

Scammers are pretending to be Athena Bitcoin employees, agents, or support representatives. They contact victims by phone, text, or email and claim to represent Athena. They may offer “investment opportunities,” “refunds,” or “ATM assistance” — but it’s a lie. Athena will never call or message you to request payment, personal information, or remote access to your device.

Scammers use our name

to sound credible and gain your trust.

They claim to “help with a transaction”

while stealing your money.

Real Athena messages never

ask for payment, codes, or passwords.

WARNING

Athena will never contact you to request payment, access your device, or guide you through a Bitcoin purchase. If someone claims to be from Athena and asks for money — it’s a scam.

If someone tells you to send Bitcoin, hang up immediately, it’s a scam.

Social Engineering

Scammers don’t hack computers — they hack people.

Social engineering means tricking you into trusting them so they can steal your money or information. They pretend to be someone real; a bank, utility, or government agency, and use fear or urgency to make you act fast.

If you feel pressured, it’s a scam. Hang up, delete the message, and verify it yourself.

How the impersonation

scam works

Contact

The scammer calls, emails, or texts claiming to represent Athena Bitcoin.

The Lie

They say you’ve qualified for an investment, refund, or need to “secure your account.”

Hook

They instruct you to use a Bitcoin ATM to send funds or “verify” your wallet.

Reality Check

Once you send the Bitcoin, the scammer vanishes — and your funds are gone for good.
